SpeechBarn helps parents build language practice plans for their children. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how to contact us.
Information We Collect
- Quiz answers you provide, such as your child’s age range and first name, your goals, how your child communicates today, and how much practice time you have.
- Contact details you choose to provide, such as an email address.
- Practice progress, such as which games your child has finished and your practice streak. If you create an account this is stored against it so it survives changing device; if you don’t, it stays on your device.
- Basic technical information, such as device type, browser, pages visited, IP address, and approximate region.
Your Child’s Diagnosis
The quiz asks whether your child has a learning or communication difference, such as autism, ADHD, apraxia, or a hearing difference. Answering is optional, and “I’d rather not say” is always an option.
We treat that answer differently from every other one. It is used on your device to adjust the pacing and prompts in your plan. It is never sent to advertising or social platforms, and it is never stored against your email address or your account. We keep an anonymous count of how often each answer is chosen, which is not linked to you, your child, or your email.

Cookies and Advertising
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work, such as remembering that you are signed in and remembering your choice below. These are always on.
We also use Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) pixel to understand how families find SpeechBarn and whether our ads work. Where the law requires your agreement first — including the UK and the EU/EEA — we ask before any of it loads, and nothing is set or sent if you decline. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s cookies. Declining does not change how the quiz, the games, or your plan work.
When these are enabled, we may share a one-way encrypted (hashed) version of your email address with Meta so it can match a signup to an ad. We never send your child’s name or diagnosis to Meta, Google, or any other advertising platform.
Children’s Privacy
SpeechBarn is designed for parent-led use. Accounts belong to a parent or guardian, and a parent or guardian should provide any information about a child. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children without parental involvement.
You only need to give us a first name for your child, and a nickname is fine — it is used to personalize your plan and nothing else.

SpeechBarn is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or a replacement for a licensed speech and language therapist.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may use service providers to host the product, process payments, process support requests, analyze performance, or deliver email. Beyond those providers, and the advertising platforms described above where you have agreed, we do not share your information.
How Long We Keep It
We delete inactive accounts and quiz responses automatically after 24 months without any activity. Activity means anything at all — playing a game, signing in, or retaking the quiz. If you have a paid subscription we keep your account while it is active, so it is never deleted out from under you.
You do not have to wait for that. You can delete everything yourself at any time — see Account Deletion.
